The Information Technology program includes the Infrastructure Support Unit and Application Development and Support Units. The Information Technology program supports secure wireless communications, firewall administration, vulnerability scanning and patching as well as network monitoring and communications between partner agencies. The Information Technology Unit also provides support of a few hundred applications and some development capacity for in-house developed applications. Services 693

City of Portland Fiscal Year 2026-27 Proposed Budget Technology support; application development; firewall administration Equity Impacts All Public Safety Technology Division staff are required to complete HR 2.02 workforce harassment, discrimination, and retaliation prevention for employees as well as equity and implicit bias training as part of the mandatory training curriculum. The Information Technology Division works with the various units to provide for persons with disabilities the necessary technology tools to be considerate of and address possible mobility and communications barriers in interactions with the other staff members and the public. The Public Safety Technology Division has each member of interview teams for the hiring of staff to attend implicit bias training and are tasked with hiring the most qualified candidates regardless of racial or cultural backgrounds, gender, or sexual orientation. Changes to Program There are no changes to the Information Technology program offer for FY 2026-27. 694
